Our heritage in nuclear qualified sensors and related accessories stretches back to 1968. Today we offer a comprehensive range of temperature and pressure sensors to support safe and effective, long term operation of nuclear plants.
Differential, gauge and absolute pressure transmitters
Radiation-harsh environments
Ultra Energy’s DTN2070 pressure transmitters are designed to provide reliable and precise pressure measurements in nuclear applications operating in harsh environments. It meets the most stringent environmental requirements of Gen III+ reactors for harsh operating environments and post-accident monitoring applications inside containment. The DTN2070 contains only analog electronics, using a diaphragm isolated direct coupled strain gauge pressure sensor capsule. The DTN2070 has undergone complete seismic and environmental qualification, being Class 1E qualified to IEEE 323-1974 and IEEE 344- 1987.
- Advanced thin film metal strain gauge sensor technology
- Stainless steel housings, non-painted
- Seismically qualified stainless steel mounting brackets
- Loop powered, 2 wire, 4-20 mA
- Quarter inch NPT process connections
- Dustproof and waterproof construction, no humidity effect
These transmitters measure absolute, gauge or differential pressure and
transmit a proportional 4 to 20 or 10 to 50 mA dc signal. They are 2-wire
transmitters that have been type-tested for applications under seismic, radiation, aging, and loss-of-cooling accident (LOCA) environments of Nuclear Power Plants per IEEE 323-1974 and 344-1975 requirements.

Seismic and mild environments
The DTC3 is an analog differential pressure transmitter designed and manufactured by Ultra Energy for non-safety nuclear applications. It is a drop-in replacement for the almost ubiquitous but now discontinued Rosemount™ 1151 analog pressure transmitter. The DTC3 provides precision pressure measurements in applications requiring reliable performance and functional safety. It has a true analog design with no microprocessors, firmware or required software and was developed to offer differential, gauge and absolute pressure measurement. With reduced calibration times, the DTC3 offers significantly reduced installation times.
- True analog design – no microprocessor or firmware/software
- Dustproof and waterproof construction, no humidity effect
- Mounted using the Rosemount 1151 mounting bracket
- Local test points for field adjustability
- No special tools required for installation
The N-DR800 is a nuclear-qualified, analog, loop powered draft range
pressure transmitter for very low-pressure measurement. It has a full scale range as low as ±0.25” H2O, making it ideal for air flow control applications. It can be turned down to ±0.1” H2O, with higher full-scale ranges to ±100” H2O available. It offers 0.5% accuracy and an operating temperature range of -20°F to +185°F. The total combined temperature effects are less than 3%/100°F.
Transducers
Extreme environments
The NP9000 Series pressure transducers are the latest generation of
harsh environment sensors designed and manufactured by Ultra Energy. These fully hermetic submersible transducers combine a Wheatstone bridge strain gauge pressure sensor and a temperature sensor. This allows for precise temperature compensation in the signal conditioner or transmitter electronics. The transducer is manufactured using a proprietary process with high temperature interconnects. Mineral insulated metal sheathed cable carries power and signals for connection to remote signal conditioners. The transducer is a fraction of the size of industrial pressure transmitters making it ideal for on-machine applications in extreme environments where traditional pressure transmitters are unsuitable. Signal converters can be located up to 250 feet away in a mild environment. No other pressure transducer can match the extreme temperature performance of the NP9000.
- Absolute pressure transducer
- Operating temperature to 650°F
- Remote operation up to 250 feet between transducer and electronics
- Magnetic field immunity
- Fully submersible
- 100% analog passive component / simple apparatus
- Compatible with our analog pressure transmitter electronics and strain gauge signal converters
