Ultra Energy US participated in nearby Meridian School's Career Exploration Fair to share our insights and inspire students to pursue career opportunities in engineering and the field of nuclear energy.
Nearly 30 exhibitors participated from diverse fields including the armed forces, building trades, retail, medical, dental, software, computer hardware, engineering and manufacturing.
About 850 students ranging in ages from 11 to 18-year-olds cycled through in 45-minute blocks by grade level, with students interacting with exhibitors that interested them.
Taylor Campbell and Mark McCray represented Ultra Energy at the exhibition. There was a high level of interest in internships from the upper grade levels and an impressive level of engagement from all students, who asked questions such as:
- What inspired you to choose your career path?
- What subjects did you study in school?
- How have your studies helped you in your career?
- What degrees or training are required for your field?
- What have been some challenges in your career and successes?
- What does your company or organization do?
- Why is your career important for the community?
- What do you enjoy the most about your career?
- What skills are relevant in your career?
We're proud to be a positive force in our community, including advocating for nuclear energy and inspiring young people to take up careers in advanced engineering.
